This project took on a life of its own, resulting in a total of five pieces. Everyone has a back story but here is the abridged version: The FBI has staked out Neptune’s Grotto for a dinner honoring Blucifer as the new Cod Father. Blucifer took over after the untimely death of Clawdius. Initially the FBI suspected the Fradiavlo Family but are now investigating Knuckles Thermidor, Blucifer’s underboss, who is also a suspect in the July 4th Massacre.

Joining Blucifer and Knuckles Thermidor are Captains Joey “Jolly” Tomalley, Jimmy the Smooch and Donnie Tubetti as well as Consiglieri Ritzy “Crackers” Stuffadore. Who lives with his mother.

At a Detroit carnival in the 50’s my grandmother spotted a woman with pink hair and a pink poodle. I missed her and have been searching for her ever since. Turns out she ran away with a couple of friends and ended up at the Bottom of the Barrel.

I wasn’t raised Catholic, but we lived a block from St. Mary’s church—the school and the convent. I was fascinated by the nuns and their lifestyle. I couldn’t imagine being so pious and good. Clearly, if I were a nun, it would be a different story!
